Join me for this unique FULL DAY excursion to beautiful northwest Wisconsin via Motorcoach!
Our adventure begins as we board a 20 passenger Motorcoach (not a school bus) in Amery, WI. The large windows and plush seats provide a perfect way to view the colors of Autumn as we make our way to Pattison State Park, just outside of Superior, WI.
Pattison State Park is a large property with scenic views and natural wonders along the Black River. The Park features two stunning waterfalls set 1.5 miles apart. Big Manitou Falls is the tallest waterfall in Wisconsin (165 feet). Little Manitou Falls is smaller, twin set of falls that is equally as breathtaking to experience. Our Hike will be here at the Park. We will explore the trails along the Black River, observe mindful moments, and take time to view both waterfalls. The trail we will journey is considered easy terrain, allowing us to enjoy the smell, sights and sounds around us.
After our hike and some time to enjoy the scenery, we will board the motorcoach again and travel to Forts Folle Avoine near Danbury, WI. The Forts is a Historical living site with 2 reconstructed Fur Trade Posts and an Ojibwe Village. As time allows, we will be free to walk the grounds and gain insight to both cultures during the time of the fur trade.
After our arrival the adventure continues as we gather in the Great Room, (a spacious log style area with a stone fire place and bench seating) which we have privately rented to enjoy a soothing Yin (slow mat based stretches) Yoga session.
After Yoga, a light meal will be prepared for us by the Forts staff. A homemade Soup and Bread (which is baked in outdoor clay ovens) will be served. As time allows, we will be free to walk the grounds and admire the reconstructed buildings from that era, including a one room schoolhouse, and a blacksmith shop. There is also a small museum and gift shop that will be open during the time we are visiting.
As we finish at Fort Folles Avoine, we will board our Motorcoach and head back to Amery. This will be a full 9 hour day excursion.
