Flow to Yin Yoga

Flow to Yin is a fusion class featuring two distinct styles of yoga. Practice begins with Vinyasa (Flow), a series of fluid movements sychronized with breath . This method warms the body, releases excess energy and calms the nervous system as we transition into the Yin portion of class.

Yin yoga is a slow, floor based meditative practice that features long held passive poses, usually 2-7 minutes each. This practice targets the deeper connective tissue (joints, fascia) that are often not attainable through other forms of yoga. Yin Yoga improves flexibility, reduces stress / anxiety and brings balance to internal organs and improve the energy flow (qi) through the meridian pathways of our body.

This popular class is beginner friendly and is a perfect compliment to other styles of yoga or other athletic activities such as running or cycling. Many practitioners find Yin to be deeply meditative and calming with lasting effects.

It is ideal to bring extra layers to class as our body will cool during the Yin portion of practice. Longsleeves, thick socks, light stocking hat or a cozy blanket are some suggestions.
